MoonWalk Scotland 2018

Walk the Walk is the UK’s largest grant-making breast cancer charity and organisers of the famous MoonWalk overnight power walking challenges. We’re in our 22nd year and immensely proud to have raised over £20m, which has been granted to research into breast cancer and to improve the lives of people in Scotland living with cancer now.

We are looking for dedicated, amazing volunteers to support us at The MoonWalk Scotland – thousands women and men walking either a full or half marathon in their fantastically decorated bras, raising money and awareness for breast cancer…quite a sight to behold!!

Date: Saturday 9th June 2018

Times: Approx 21:30 – 06:00

and/or

Date: Sunday 10th June 2018

Times: Approx 04:00 – 12:00 or 06:00 – 12:00

Info: Common duties in this role include, but are not limited to:

•           Front or back marker for one of our four walking challenges

•           Acting as a rapid response to zones in need of extra help (eg busy walker traffic)

•           Providing additional support to Route Marshals.

•           Looking out for any walkers in distress or any walkers with injuries.

Previous experience is helpful but not essential. All Volunteers will receive a Volunteer Pack two to three weeks before the event – this includes confirmation of start time, briefing notes and a Volunteer Handbook. An induction will be given by your Team Leader or Walk the Walk staff. All cyclists must be over 18 years of age and provide their own bicycle and safety equipment.

An open road cycling challenge in aid of Children’s Hospices Association Scotland (CHAS) – take in the beautiful views of the west whilst raising money for a brilliant cause!

In it’s first year of running we are keeping entries limited and keeping costs low in order for us to give as much as possible to the cause.

Included in your £25 entry:
• A 50 mile route with stunning scenery
• Timing information available via social media after the event
• Sweeper service
• Feed and water station at 20 miles
• Finishers Ice Cream with thanks to Auchentullich Farm Shop
