Selkirk MTB Marathon & Enduro

MTB Marathon

The most popular (and challenging) mountain bike marathon course in the UK?. Yep, we think so.  These are truly epic and ‘out there’ rides through the very best of the Scottish Borders and Southern Uplands.  Choice of 2 single-loop courses (approx. 25km and 50km).  Superb mix of flowy natural singletrack, ancient drove roads, mahoosive climbs, grind-inducing descents, stunning riverside trails, and big hills!.

MTB Enduro

Selkirk Enduro is the sweet spot between old-skool Marathon and super-gnar Enduro. All the fun, all the adventure, all the challenge. Everything that’s good about MTB in one hit Timed special stages?. Yep. Good ones as well – singletrack that’s technical enough, fun and challenging, but not a crazy steep gnaar-fest. Whether you’re Enduro-curious or Rad to the Power of Sik, this is the race for you.  Based on the same course as the 50km Marathon, you’ll have a great ‘out there’ experience.

Pitfichie Local Enduro

Pitfichie Local Enduro 2018.

A mountain biking race taking place on the mountain bike trails at Pitfichie, Aberdeenshire on the 10th of June. The event will follow the common Blind Enduro format with Race runs on the Sunday with no course preview. Course length approx. 25km with 5 timed stages.

What’s at Pitfichie?

Pitfichie is one of the very few places in the north-east of Scotland which has had mountain bike trails professionally developed and maintained by Forestry Commission Scotland. Pitfichie’s trails lead through varied forest and across open hill tops, with fabulous views of the Vale of Alford and Bennachie. There are two way marked cross country trails, an epic downhill course and a host of other informal trails, a combination of which will be used for the event route. Last year the Scottish Enduro Series (SES) came to Pitfichie and many who came were calling it the best event race out the six which took place across the year. Check out the video here: https://vimeo.com/214158168

Race Categories?

This year we have 4 categories: Women; a new Junior Men 13-17 (after the success of the 2017 Hill of Fare Enduro with many entries in this bracket); Men 18-39 category and Senior Men 40+.

Age and Number Limit?

Anyone aged 13 or over on the date of the event will be able to take part in it. We are also limited to 175 riders on the day.

Will the event be run out of Monymusk?

The event village will be based just north of Monymusk in the ‘Clyans’ field. This has plenty of parking for cars and vans and is located on the left hand side of the road leading from the village, just beyond the small building housing a telephone exchange, coordinates (57.230642, -2.529380). It will be well signed on the day.

Is it race novice friendly?

The race is suitable for riders new to enduro racing. Many people entered the 2017 race at Hill of Fare to have a ride with a bunch of mates and see how well they do. Our events have great friendly, atmosphere and attract all levels of rider.

Will there be prizes?

Prizes will be provided by local and national biking related companies. In 2017 we gave out more than £500 worth of prizes across the categories.

Are there sponsors?

Lots of local bike shops have already confirmed that they will be attending the event, who will be able to help with any bike related troubles!

Will there be food & drink?

Lily’s Dough (pizzas) and Eat Van Drink (drinks & hot food) will be attending the event to cater for all your calories replacement needs! We are also hoping to have an Ice Cream Van along if it’s a sunny one – let’s hope so!
