Fair City Enduro

Fair City Enduro is no ordinary Enduro…  The main race starts and finishes in the centre of one of Scotland’s most vibrant cities, the “Fair City” of Perth and as it’s Halloween time fancy dress is encouraged, no, in fact fancy dress is positively celebrated!

You, Abraham Lincoln and hundreds of other Randoms start the day with a gentle pedal through Perth City Centre with cars beeping and people waving to you.  You then climb steadily out of the city until you reach the flowiest, gnarliest, sweetest-riding trails in the forests high above the city.  Then the real fun begins….

The Venue

The Enduro is ridden blind and although it’s not the toughest Enduro on the planet it’s still a fairly hefty day out in the hills with breath-taking views, tasty trails and possibly Amy Winehouse.  As with all Muckmedden events, the focus is on having fun on your bike and the stages have been chosen to offer less advanced riders an enjoyable challenge and let experienced shredders get wild!  Expect a huge variety of riding from flat-out singletrack to techy, steep chutes to manicured berms and jumps in the bike park.  This is where most of the showboating takes place.  Again, this is something we like to encourage.

After you and Shrek have spent the day shredding the forest stages, you return to the city, grab a bargain at the bustling trade village, chow down on a gourmet burger and try out some demo bikes until we hand out the Muckin’ Medals.  Once the medal ceremony is over every rider is entered into our Random Raffle for a chance to win some fantastic swag from our sponsors.

But that’s not the end.  Oh no, as we said Fair City Enduro is based in one of the most stunning cities in Scotland, so you’re making a weekend of it.  You head back to your hotel for a cosy shower and head into Perth for a night of pubbing, clubbing or erm, “grubbing?”

What to expect

  • Expect to ride everything from bike park jumps to rocky chutes, wet roots, high-speed singletrack and steep drops.
  • The entire course should take between 2 and 5 hours to complete and is approximately 23kms in length with LOTS of climbing and descending.
  • Number of stages TBC.

Deadlines and I are good friends. So chummy are we, in fact, that I always let them creep really close before tackling the task in hand. Tests, essays, and, you can probably tell, blog posts: the material is never addressed until a due date looms large, and do finally wins out over die. I just more »
